Wiring Diagrams - SETbucker w/ Free-Way
Basic Guidelines
-
Potentiometer: use Audio taper pots. 250 kohm is recommended for single coil pickups and 500 kohm for SETbucker pickups. Vice versa is also possible. In general a larger resistance pot is known to retain more treble than a smaller resistance one.
-
Capacitor: 0.022 nF cap always goes along with 250 kohm. 500 kohm pots can be paired with 0.022 to 0.047 nF. A larger cap offers a more range of tone change but cuts a bit of treble.
-
We use push-pull pots on all our prewired pickguards and kits. Push-push pots are also available.
Freeway switch options
-
5B5-CJL: CJLab proprietary 10-way switch from Free-Way. It was designed for HSH but also works with HH and HSS.
-
5B5-01: 10-way switch, used on HSS. The diagrams were made for Funkyman's strat.
-
3x3-05: 6-way Ultra switch, used on HH. CJ used this for his PRS custom guitars.
